Authentic ONE OF A KIND ORIGINAL Painting of RAY CHARLES, removed from the wall of the Riviera Hotel Casino, Splash Room, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This piece measures approx 30″ high and 21″ wide. Painting appears to executed on canvas over wallboard. Piece has been rolled for storage – is in reasonably good condition. The Riviera, the “Riv”, enjoyed a legendary past as one of the first (1955) top notch casinos on the Las Vegas strip, known for its fabulous world class entertainment. A great number of original artist renderings of the many celebrities who had performed there were hand painted on the upper walls of the “”Splash Room” in the iconic hotel/casino. Commissioned in the 1980’s, these paintings were done by an artist unknown to me (although this could be researched) – executed directly on the walls. In 2006, the large entertainment review and Splash Room were dismantled, ending a 22 year reign. The paintings were stripped from the walls, roughly cut apart, and some were salvaged by employees . . . I have a total of six well known entertainers available, each piece absolutely one of a kind with an interesting history. The Riviera, known for its SHOWS and STARS, was demolished in 2010.
